RECIPE: Crispy Baked Chicken Nuggets
Baked, not fried! These baked chicken nuggets are a healthier way to enjoy a family favourite! Serve with a side salad or roasted veggies, or with dips as a party appetiser.
INGREDIENTS
500g chicken breast, cut into nugget-sized chunks
1/4 cup Smoked Paprika
1/4 cup Garlic Powder
1/4 cup Onion Powder
1/2 cup Breadcrumbs
1/2 cup Plain Flour
2 Eggs
Salt & Pepper
METHOD
Preheat oven to 200°C. Line an oven tray with baking paper.
Place the flour and eggs in separate bowls. Whisk the eggs. In a third bowl, combine the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder and breadcrumbs. Add salt and pepper
Place each chicken piece into the flour and coat on all sides.
Dip coated chicken pieces into the egg, then roll in your spice mix to coat.
Place on lined tray.
Bake in preheated oven for 5 minutes. Flip, then continue baking for another 5 minutes.
Cut into one nugget with a knife to ensure chicken is cooked through.
Serve with a side salad or with dips for an appetiser.
