Exercise Physiology
Exercise Physiology uses scientific knowledge of the body to provide effective clinical exercise interventions to address the physical strain and adaptability of the body when it is exposed to repeated injury, ongoing discomfort and chronic health conditions.
At The Movement Standard, our Accredited Exercise Physiologists (AEPs) have completed a minimum 4 years of university training to become qualified allied health professionals, recognised in the medical and health sectors. Each year, our Exercise Physiologists continue to upskill with self and team-driven professional development. They are experts in understanding how the body moves from a biomechanical point of view, which means, whatever your goals, our Exercise Physiologists can get you there.
Using a philosophy that combines exercise and medicine, our Exercise Physiologists provide individualised exercise programs, ongoing support and lifestyle improvement advice to develop and advance in the most effective way possible, ultimately repairing your quality of life.
Working with an Exercise Physiologist benefits people of all ages and athletic ability. Exercise Physiologists assist individuals with foundational movement techniques that aim to reduce the potential for injury and optimise your physical development.

What to Expect at Your First Appointment
Your Exercise Physiologist will ask about your medical and exercise history and your goals. Following this initial conversation, they will conduct a number of relevant tests that will determine how to treat you most effectively, such as:
Mobility Screening, for example, knee-to-wall for ankle range
Movement Quality, for example, squat technique
Strength, for example, understanding difference in right/left limbs
Endurance, for example, maximum aerobic capacity
